Collection: Submerged plants

Submerged plants, or hydrophytes, include submerged plants known as oxygenators, which, through their strong photosynthetic power, absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) and transform it into dioxygen (O2).

Dissolved oxygen in the water is an essential element for the proper balance of the pond (degradation of organic matter by oxidation, oxygen essential for aquatic animals for their respiration).

Water lilies and lotuses, in addition to their ornamental role, serve as a vegetation cover on the surface of the pond and also play a role in capturing phosphates (PO4), which is detrimental to unwanted algae.
